How calls reach Hello
Forward your current number, use your Hello number or move your number to Hello.
There are three ways to send calls to Hello. You can keep your current phone service and forward calls, use your included Hello number, or move an eligible number to Hello.
Choose your setup
- During onboarding, open Your Hello number. After onboarding, go to Settings, then Phone.
- Under How should calls reach Hello?, choose the option that suits your business.
- Complete the forwarding or porting steps for that option. Choosing an option in Hello does not turn on forwarding with your phone provider.
Forward missed calls (recommended) lets your phone ring first. Hello answers calls you don't answer, are busy on or can't take.
Forward all calls sends every call to Hello.
Use my Hello number means you publish your Hello number on your website and Google Business Profile.
Move my number to Hello starts a port request. Porting takes 6 to 8 weeks, so forward calls while you wait.
Test the route
Call your usual business number from another phone. If you chose missed-call forwarding, leave the call unanswered and check that Hello picks up.
Don't add your forwarding business number to the phone tree. A transfer to it would come straight back to Hello. Use a person's mobile or direct line instead.
