Pronunciation of names and places

Some names need a little help when spoken aloud. You can add pronunciation notes for places, staff, products and other words customers hear often.

Keep the real spelling next to a simple sound guide so the note is easy to match.

Add pronunciation guidance

1. Open Onboarding.
2. Choose Voice and name.
3. Find Words and names to pronounce correctly.
4. Enter each word and how it sounds, one per line.
5. Wait for Saved.

For example: "Ōtāhuhu (OR-tah-hoo-hoo)". Include only what's needed to get it right.

Test in context

Call Hello and ask a question that naturally uses the name. A word can sound different in a sentence than on its own. Check names in the greeting as well as names used later in a call.

Pronunciation notes guide speech only. They don't change how your business name is spelt, and they're separate from the Languages setting.
