What happens if a transferred call isn't answered?

What callers hear after an unanswered transfer, and how to make missed transfers easier to handle.

When Hello puts a caller through to someone on your team, it hands the call over and steps out. It can't take the call back if nobody answers. If your mobile goes to voicemail, the caller hears your voicemail.

Text alerts help

If transfer alerts are on, you get a text just before the call comes through, with the caller's name, number and reason for calling. So even if you miss it, you can call straight back. Check each person's alert in Your front desk, under Phone tree.

Your options

  1. Transfer to a business number (recommended). We set up a number that rings your mobile for about 20 seconds, then goes to a business voicemail and texts the caller. Ask us and we'll set it up.
  2. Tidy up your mobile voicemail. Shorten the ring time before voicemail and record a greeting that works for customers. Quick and free.
  3. Leave it as is. Rely on the text alert and call back.

Ask for a change

The business number option is set up by the Leadica team. It isn't a setting in the app yet.

Email hello@leadica.io and tell us which person or number takes the transfers.
